Synopsis

A major work of the world documentary showing the May in Paris in 1962. Extraordinary from the visual point of view, it is a sociological study registering the pulse of everyday life, and the mood and nature of time, using symbolical crossovers. Paris shown in all shades of grey: the Algerian war of independence has just ended, but there are still demonstrations at victims' funerals. The documentary filmmaker, as a poet, is strolling about the streets, talking to people in the shops and on riverbanks, reflecting both the formalities of politicians and the life in night dance halls. A walk of a cameraman transformed in a vast social panorama.
