Synopsis

Using the examples of several third-world countries, this political document investigates the consequences of privatisation of public services, often enforced by global financial institutions. The episodic mosaic brings stories of people who do not feel even the slightest positive aspects of global economic growth. Interviews with politicians and economists representing the dogma of privation that are interwoven in the film are commented upon by the American Nobel Prize winner for economy Joseph E. Stiglitz, the former President of the World Bank and current critic of processes launched by privatisation.
