Synopsis

FilmSONG introduces us to the gloomy landscape of Sicily’s sulfur mines. Miners enter cage-like lifts to descend into the ground, where they will toil to the flickering light of their lamps. The mining song Surfarara is their main link to the world above, an expression of work accepted with resignation and with an awareness of their own strength.
