Synopsis

This film is a collective portrait of people living in Rue Daguerre, mainly the local shopkeepers, opening their shops every morning to offer Paris to passing tourists. The filmmaker asks all the people the same questions: how long they have lived there, how they met their partners and what dreams they have. People answer and the camera observes their everyday work, their care for the customers, moments of rest. The work exquisitely balances reality and imagination, without too much introspection, psychologising or removing the people from the context of their world, place and loved ones.
