Titova cesta

Titova cesta

Script: Janja Glogovac
Color: Colour and B&W

Slovenian documentarian Janja Glogovac, the author of this controversial portrait of the controversial leader of the Yugoslav people, Josip Broz Tito (1892-1980), is a student of FAMU. It is not a standard portrait of a politician; we see Tito from close up, from the perspective of the people around him. Archival footage is combined with statements from his valet, fashion designer, chef, biomechanic, chief of protocol, a violinist and a Slovenian partisan. Although these mostly humorous anecdotes offer bits of a mosaic with some personal flavour, they do not offer much more than a few interesting observations about the first man of Yugoslavia.
