Synopsis

Contrasting black and white images of Chinatown create a poetic impression of the busy streets; multiplying image layers are linked by the faces of people against the background of a collage of subtle sounds. The scene is framed by historical memories of 1869, when the first transcontinental railroad was completed in the USA, built largely by Chinese workers.

Biography
