In this film, everything that is staged is documentary. A seemingly fictional story about a man who goes to work in the city and loses everything is a metaphorical play on the state of society and a criticism of the military regime. It was screened only illegally and features residents of the Boca do Lixo slum.

Director, cinematographer, actor, screenwriter, producer, and photographer Ozualdo Candeias (1922) is known primarily for his live action films which are always very socially critical and engaged. He’s inspired by folk culture.
