Synopsis

Shinsuke Ogawa’s directorial debut follows the struggle of four Japanese students in 1966 who lead the opposition to proposed changes in university correspondence courses. The filmmakers’ passion blends with that of the students, giving the film a youthful militant energy.

“The audience at the official premiere consisted of a journalist friend and my brother and sister. At that moment, I decided that, no matter how difficult it sometimes would be, if I ever had fewer than three people in the audience, then it would be time to quit.” S. Ogawa
