Filmstudie

A Dadaist composition in which faces, eyeballs, circles, cones and rectangles come together in a rhythmic verses of shadows and cracks through which light can pass. Geometry disintegrates into rolling spiral movements, and the difference between the concrete and the abstract is in the power of randomness.

German director Hans Richter (1888–1976) is one of the earliest creators of abstract films. His visually captivating works full of geometric shapes were influenced by Cubism and Dadaism. In 2009, the Ji.hlava IDFF showed his film Inflation (1928).
