Shapes in motion, abstracted through various combinations, shifts in colour and multiple exposures, create amoeba-like structures that disintegrate and recombine into familiar contours of real objects, all to the sound of jazz music. The constant motion allows one shot to blend into another in an artistically entrancing flow of images.

Hy Hirsh (1911–1961) was an American photographer and director. During the 1950s, he created seven avant-garde films in which he experimented with combining coloured patterns with jazz music.
