Synopsis

Duration as depicted in a slowly roiling mass of clouds that covers the landscape below (or the empty sky above) to fill the frame of visibility and semantic meaning. The film is a key work by a legendary theorist and creator of structural/materialist films.

Biography

The works of Peter Gidal (1946), a leading representative of British structuralist film, are focused on the expressive aspects of film, such as grain, duration, tempo, and editing structures. His film Hall (1969) has been screened at the Jihlava IDFF.
