Synopsis

Enthusiasm is perhaps the first film in the history of documentary filmmaking to use industrial sounds on soundtrack. This pioneering film paved the way for new ways of editing image and sound. Vertov was less interested in their synchronization than in the unity of counterpoints.

“Never had I known that these mechanical noises could be arranged to sound so beautiful. I regard it [Enthusiasm] as one of the most exhilarating symphonies I have heard. Mr. Dziga Vertov is a musician.” Charles Chaplin
