Danish director Carl Theodor Dreyer was a member of Rohmer’s personal pantheon. This relationship gave rise to a unique interview with one of the classic icons of the film world, who describes his own works and personal theoretical foundations. Again, we should not expect any biographical details or anecdotes from film shoots – Rohmer created an essayistic portrait of an artist.

“Rohmer filmed Dreyer using the same style as Dreyer used for Gertrud. Questions urged him to reveal his opinions of his own work. The purity and limpidity of Rohmer’s writing are well-suited to this noble man.” Jacques Siclier
