A reportage on change. Not even Turkey can avoid the capitalist approach to urban planning. Developers move people out of lucrative areas and replace their homes with dead residential blocks. Instead of houses from which you can escape in an earthquake, they build concrete coffins. A look at the functioning of the interconnected companies that live off state contracts.

İmre Azem (1975) studied political science and French literature, and developed an interest in cinematography and editing during his time in New York. After returning to Istanbul in 2007, he worked on the documentary film Ecumenopolis: City without Limits. His films explore urbanism and people’s “right to the city.” He combines architecture and society in audiovisual sociological studies.
