Bit Plane is a spy plane that had its maiden flight over Silicon Valley in 1997. It records strategic locations and stunning natural sceneries in the USA that are inaccessible by large aircraft. The film’s intertitles provide information on each flight and on the aircraft’s technical data and abilities, and reflects on the possibilities and dangers as seen from a bird’s-eye view.

BIT (Bureau of Inverse Technology) is an anonymous collective of artist-engineers founded in 1991 in Melbourne, Australia, which defines itself as an information agency servicing the Information Age.
