This poetic capturing of varied aspects of electric lighting in large cities arose spontaneously during night wanderings around Berlin and Paris. Deslaw once again demonstrates his enormous talent while creating a visually photogenic film. Street lamps, neon signs, and other sources of lighting are not just the primary focus, but also create the symmetry of fascinating permanent fireworks.

“The film is eminently intuitive. It doesn’t describe. It doesn’t preach. It casts its gaze like a light axe. No night is safe from it. It uncovers all secrets while ridiculing them. It is an amazing and terrifying dagger in the hands of a man thirsting for joy and noise.” Eugène Deslaw
