A former general from the Balkan wars spends several months before his capture in complete isolation in the remote countryside. Silence and inactivity tellingly illustrate the burden of his conscience during his final moments of freedom. Conceived as documentary fiction, the film creates a strong illusion of authenticity without forcing the viewer to pass moral judgment on the main character.

Georgian director Bakur Bakuradze uses documentary techniques and casts non-actors in his films. His first two works, Shultes (2008) and The Hunter (2011), were screened at Cannes.
