Synopsis

Using the testimony of four members of the commando that kidnapped and executed Aldo Moro in 1978, Levi Mosco Boucault traces the history of the Italian Red Brigades. It took Boucault sixteen years to complete They Were the Red Brigades after his first meeting with Renato Curcio in 1995, opposing the conventional image of the Red Brigades and providing a more political and comprehensive view.
