Amer and Raghda met and fell in love in a Syrian prison; they married and had four sons. Subsequently the family left Syria as political refugees. This documentary melodrama shows how difficult it is to clearly identify the boundaries between responsibility towards one’s family and loyalty to one’s country and ideas, which are drowning in blood.

Sean McAllister is an independent filmmaker who works for British public and commercial television. His films, such as The Liberace of Baghdad (2005), are characterised by his unique personal reporting style.
