As it calmly explores the grounds of Expo 67, this found-footage collage travels back in time to when Montreal hosted this exhibition of civilizational progress. The film delves into the various exhibitions and works with footage from documentary and instructional films to reflect upon the key points of progress and iconic symbols of its implementation.

A re-reading of the expo’s symbol of the globe evokes not only memories of the era’s pride in technological progress, but also emphasize the aesthetic force if its celebration.

Canadian documentary filmmaker Philip Hoffman is known for his diary-like films and distinctive directing method emphasizing the questions of human memory and temporality. He teaches at Toronto’s York University and is the founder of the Film Farm, an educational center and refuge for experimental filmmakers. The Jihlava IDFF has previously shown his films Aged (2014) and All Fall Down (2009). The films of Canadian artist Eva Kolcze explore the subjects of the landscape, architecture and the body through physical matter and celluloid. Her films have been shown at numerous international festivals.
