A man, who is walking through the mountains. An unknown man, who we meet at the street in Cuzco to walk with him on the dangerous paths of the Ands mountain of Machu Picchu.

All the time, he is telling us in the I-form about the mountain soul and purity to which it is growing. He is debating about the inexhaustible guidance and enormous importance of the mountains. Not even eternity would be enough for him to understand them. The mountains are salvation, escape from the poverty of the valley, mercy given as a present.

The porter carrying heavy luggage hopes for better life. Down, in the town, he belongs to the poorest, all day he is waiting for foreigners, for whom he is only a tool, a body to be used. In a unique stream of mind, he speaks in the film about his low position and about the strength, which the mountains are giving to him. He walks and confesses. The trip takes on a special form of a poetic experience. He walks and is looking for his own way.
