The documentary consists of a run of long shots of the scenes, which appear to be more or less randomly cut out of the American reality, but which create overall the highly emblematic picture of the United States of America.

Pictures or postcards can evoke memories of wired beads of motives going down from extreme details up to the big whole, inclusive of pictures of countryside, highways, advertising boards, buildings from outside mostly with an American flag fluttering somewhere as a part of the film shot, they can also act as a reminder of the objects such as coins on the counter, a refrigerator full of typical foodstuffs, a plate of food in a snack bar, or a bottle of Wild Turkey and, at last, the pictures of the people, who will present themselves in front of the camera (and sometimes also the rough-hewn pillars of their lives) - for instance, a New York taxi driver or the celebrities like Kim Larsen and Andy Warhol.

Every scene is delimited by the commentator and he will describe the picture content usually and simply by giving the right time and place. Gnossiennes (No.5) by Erik Sati puts the finishing touches to the atmosphere or the interpretation.
