Khavn De La Cruz

He is an author of several manifests promoting, above all, semi-amateurish video filmmaking without star cast (when unsure whether to trust an actor use lie-detector) and with a minimum crew. These features give chance of quality films even to the Third World countries such as Philippines. He himself made eleven short and fourteen feature-length films, often controversial. Some of them were edited directly in the camera by the "Pause" button, others are diaries. Khavn's Manila-based production company Filmless Film is an original reaction to Dogma 95. The company focuses on the shooting of feature-length films made solely with digital technologies and tries to promote and defend such technologies in the Philippines as much as possible.
