Petr Hruška

A Czech poet born in 1964 in Ostrava, an industrial urban monster situated above huge supplies of black coal. He still lives there, however, he works in Prague at the Academy of Sciences as an expert on 20th century Czech literature. He also teaches on this topic at Czech universities. He has written a number of poetry collections (he received the State Literature Prize for his latest collection Darmata), he also writes prose and works on literary history.
