Teddy Grouya

Theodore “Teddy” Grouya is currently the Director of the American Documentary Film Festival as well as President of Cinema Arts Magic, a film production company. Teddy has been working on and off in the entertainment industry since 1981. Teddy received his BA studying motion picture/television and history. After graduating, Teddy worked on several Hollywood films, on school system and for US Embassy in Australia where he received his MA in International Relations. Upon leaving the government, Teddy went to work in film, having produced and directed several award-winning independent movies, in both the documentary and narrative fields. Today, Teddy Directs the American Documentary Film Festival, the largest Docs-only festival on the West Coast. The festival’s year-round mission is to enhance and encourage education outreach through film and international conference and filmmaker exchanges.
