Visegrad Accelerator: Co-producing in Visegrad - Challenges and Opportunities

Description

The co-production environment in the Visegrad countries is in a strange state. While the Czech Republic and Slovakia are essentially one market, both countries' ties to Poland and Hungary are quite complicated. What is more, producers from the former Eastern Bloc countries tend to look for partners to the west of their borders because this guarantees distribution in relatively large regions with an interest in demanding films. Is it an institutional problem? The state of each country’s film industry? How do representatives from the Visegrad countries co-produce today?
