LECTURE: How to Shape Images and Sounds into Emotions, Stories, and Representations

Description

For veteran editor Yael Bitton, editing is a very subtle process that consists of assigning meaning to images and shaping them into stories. In her lecture she will discuss this process both on a semiotical level and a practical one that will touch upon all the stages that editors / story tellers / writers have to go through when confronted with hundreds of hours of rushes. Using texts and examples from films she has edited, Yael Bitton will reveal how we go about finding the truth of the story contained in those rushes and how to manifest it.
