"Rock, fusion" - Happy Hours, Swordfishtrombones, Radimova kapela Karel

Happy Hours (Jihlava)

Swordfishtrombones (Brno)

Although SFT has been around since 1994, they first garnered attention with their 1998 debut Amorous Fruit. The band’s second album, Hunting Season, was produced by Colin Stuart. Since their third release, Blood & Milk, the band has worked with Dušan Neuwerth, who also produced their most recent album, Aftertaste. SFT is characterized by the songwriting talent of guitarist Karel Krtička, the husky voice of frontman Miloš Rejsek, and their combination of guitar with unusual arrangements of brass instruments, in particular Alois Ponížil’s trumpet and French horn.

Radimova kapela Karel (Jihlava)

Besides acoustic or electric guitar, accordion, vocals, and an interesting combination of drums, the band often features a stand-up bass and other instruments as well. In fact, Radimova kapela Karel (literally, Radim’s Band Karel) consciously seeks out musical guests in order to join their ensemble. During performances, the audience is often enraptured by the dazzling music and, intoxicated by the blues and other rhythms, grabs a hold of anything it take makes a noise and joins the action.
