Dalibor Zíta: The Balkan Route – In the Footsteps of the Refugees

Dalibor Zíta: The Balkan Route – In the Footsteps of the Refugees:
Prior to this summer, the “Balkan route”, leading across Greece, Macedonia, Serbia, and Hungary, was used by dozens, maybe a few hundred refugees. This summer thousands of people traveled it daily. Both governments of countries along the route and humanitarian organisations were caught unprepared for something like this. So volunteers have stepped in to help. Dalibor, a Czech volunteer, documented the predicament of refugees on their journey to Europe and stories of people who helped them.

Tereza Hronová: I Experienced the Earthquake in Nepal:
On April 25, 2015, Nepal was struck by a devastating earthquake and the country was paralyzed by panic for many days. According to UN data, the number of casualties reached 8898, and nearly 900 000 homes were rendered uninhabitable. On May 12, the ground began to shake yet again. At that moment, Tereza stood in the tiny village of Hagam somewhere in the mountains in the Sinpalchuk region. Later she found out that it was almost at the epicenter. With her colleagues from People in Need, she had come to give people heavy tarps for building temporary housing. She was there when the villagers pulled badly injured people out of the rubble.
